We have a requriement where we need to show the time along with date.
The date picker don’t have the support for time format. It support only mm,dd,yyyy and it’s few combinations. We are using the SPARK controls in our coach and don’t want to use the default Date TIme Picker for this one requriement.
Has anyone worked on showing time using Spark toolkit controls.
SPARK SupportNovember 16, 2016 at 8:27 am #3079Hi Saroj,
You are correct that the SPARK Date Picker control does not support Time:
“The Date Picker control allows for the specification of a date (only, no time) thru an entry field or a Calendar widget.”

Saroj PandaNovember 16, 2016 at 11:45 pm #3094I agree as it’s name suggest. In Stock Controls it’s Date Time Picker.
I don’t see any Time control in Spark UI Toolkit. How to achive the requirement of showing time. Any option to make it work in Date Picker.
SPARK SupportNovember 17, 2016 at 1:07 pm #3101Hi Saroj,
Eventually there will be a Time element in the SPARK UI mid next year or later.
However, for the time being, this would be something that you would need to keep in a custom variable or create a custom control on your end.
At this time your request will require a custom control. We do offer custom controls on a contractual basis, and I would be happy to forward this request to client services if you would like to talk with someone about your options.

Stephen P.
Maciej SzleminskiNovember 22, 2016 at 2:52 am #3146That is a ridiculous oversight! I had a client who basically bought Spark after a 15-minute showcase I did some weeks ago surprise me with this information yesterday.
Why not do a coach view that will combine a date picker (as is) plus two integer fields, set to 0-23 and 0-59 (assuming universal time format 24h for now although we know in the US the am/pm format is more widespread) and just combining the results back into the date object on unload (or whatever even would be more suitable for the purpose)?
Could somebody from Spark throw something like this together, or at least provide enough guidance to help us design such a workaround ourselves? It would benefit the community to have it available!
SPARK SupportNovember 22, 2016 at 12:32 pm #3151Hello Maciej,
I am happy to hear that your customer is so excited about the SPARK UI Toolkit.
Yes, we have acknowledged the need to have a Time element in the Date Picker control. Due to the various efforts underway as part of the Bluewash project, this request is slated to be incorporated into the product most likely in the 2nd quarter of next year.
Our primary focus with IBM at this time is to provide WYSIWYG support for Web PD, Accessibility improvements and localization support for existing controls. Our Development Team will then be able to focus on providing enhancements to controls such as Time on the Date Picker.
If your client is an Enterprise subscriber, please have the customer submit a ticket through https://salientprocess.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/requests/new so that we may further re-evaluate the priority of this request and assure we properly track and document their concerns.
Regards,
Stephen P.
Saroj PandaNovember 23, 2016 at 1:14 am #3155Hello Stephen,
As I read the primary focus right now is the Accessibility improvement, I have few accessibility issues and would like to know if I should open new post or there is some existing post to track all the Accessibility issues.
Regards,
Saroj
