Hi there, there are some icons shown at http://fontawesome.io/icons/ not rendered in SPARK controls – like map, map-*. Is there some fix or quick workaround available please?

    Thanks, Radek

    Hey Radek,

Currently SPARK does not support the map icon. We do however support map-marker, location-arrow and globe icons, those could be used as reasonable substitutes.

    Hi there,

I need to use “ship” icon for a PoC urgently. It is here http://fontawesome.io/icons/ but not available in SPARK UI Toolkit. This is pretty typical situation.

    • Why all the icons are not in the toolkit?
    • Are you going to make full list of icons available in the toolkit?
    • Is there a quick temporary workaround?

    Thanks, Radek

    Hi Radek,

The SPARK UI Toolkit supports the icons that were included in Font Awesome version 4.0.3.  The fa-ship icon was created with version 4.3.

Including the newer Font Awesome icons into the toolkit would be considered a Feature Request.  Enterprise customers have the ability to submit tickets for Enhancement Requests which may be included at the discretion of Salient Process.

Unfortunately, there is no real temporary work-around.  The SPARK toolkit would need to be extended to a custom toolkit as the subsequent SPARK toolkit would contain Font Awesome version 4.0.3 again when the dependency is upgraded.

The FA-version is really outdated compared to the later versions. The function with FA-icons are exellent, but I’m often missing the one I want to use. Is there any licensing issues that keeps you from updating the version? It’s would generate great value. 🙂

    Hi Emil,

The only issue with adding new icons to the toolkit is the amount of time it takes to retest all of the controls.  We may update the fonts to a newer version in an upcoming release.
