Modal within Tab section in Internet Explorer 11

I created a CV containing a MODAL section. The CV is then added into a TAB Section whose height is significantly smaller than the modal’s height.

In Internet Explorer 11, the modal does not show properly, it only displays parts of the modal section relative to the height and width of the the TAB section (parent container). On the other hand, other browsers (Firefox and Chrome) can display the modal section properly.

Can you recommend a fix for this behavior in IE?

Without looking at it, I have a feeling this may have something to do with an IE11 z-index CSS issue.
